Hey. Hi. Hello!
I literally don’t know whether today is Sunday or Monday, so we’re going to post this and just hope that I picked the right date. Also, there’s a Hurricane Lane in the Pacific and I really feel like this is my time to shine, so I’d like to thank my friends and family for getting me this far, and the Academy…not sure what that is but everyone thanks them, so I will, too.
Honestly, I debated not putting this post up, because I knew I wanted to add a video for it, but also knew that I didn’t want to put makeup on if I was literally going to sit around my apartment. However, I had no Plan B of what else I was going to write, so we’re going to stick with it. What is it we’re sticking to you may ask (and if you are asking, please look at the title and try again)…well it’s none other than my DAILY MAKEUP ROUTINE!
Please find a (sped-up) video I filmed on August 19th, 2018 at 2:00 PM. It’s raining. I broke my Dyson vaccum. You can’t see ANYTHING, and the end result is really not mystifying. But, it’s my daily makeup routine, and it is what it is. And no, please do not come for my application techniques, I do what I want. But, it would be a pretty lame blog if I just gave you a crappy video, so I’ll also be breaking down the products and why I love them after. Peace.
The classic. Not even sure this is my color because you can def tell I fill in my eyebrows when I use it, but YOLO, it’s the best we’re doing now. Maybe one day I’ll get it together, but for now this is what I use. I do it before foundation because I find it helps the product stay a little better.
Wow, just wow. Love this stuff. Helps to blend the pencil out a little bit and makes my eyebrows look more naturally amazing, which is hard to do. The wand has two different combs on it, which helps to apply the product, and then separate out any clumps or stubborn hairs.
Again, not sure this is my shade, but we’re sticking to it. I don’t apply primer under this, because it had hyaluronic acid in it, and I find it stays better without a primer. Yes, I have changed my mind about this foundation and actually quite enjoy it now. People change! I use a beauty blender to apply it, which probably not the best because it makes it look super dewey already, but I don’t want to use anything else frankly.
It’s packed with collagen, so while the tingle feels weird at first, it goes away and leaves your lips looking and feeling super hydrated. It starts to dry out/soak up as I’m doing my makeup and getting ready, so that if I do decide to wear a lip color for the day, it creates a perfect base that doesn’t chap throughout the day.
We all know about this product. It’s great. Doesn’t sit amazingly well over the Shape Tape foundation, but it does well enough that I don’t look scarily tired. Definitely need to invest more money into undereye creams though, because it will cling to any bumps along that area. I apply it with a beauty blender!
It does it’s job. A translucent setting powder to keep my undereyes from creasing, and it hasn’t broken after being dropped at least six times so far, so we like that. I’ll use a Real Techniques powder brush to apply it.
I used to be a contour queen…now I just countour my nose, and I’m not even sure it does anything. I use the lightest shade on an everyday basis, and the middle shade if I’m going out and trying to attract a male. I use an old Sonia Kashul flat brush for the chisle, and a Tarte contour brush to blend it out.
I go on and off with this product, and right now we’re on. It looks better with this foundation than a cream contour would. I use a Real Techniques contour brush to apply it around the cheekbones and sides of my forehead.
This is a really nice, light blush color. It’s not super crazy, but adds just a hint of color into the cheeks. I wear blush everyday, and have done for years, but it’s never anything noticeable, so I feel like I apply it just to have something to fill some time. I use a Morphe powder brush from their Vegan collection.
This highlighter is great. I use a Real Techniques fan brush to apply it, although I’m sure it would do better with a denser brush. It gives a really nice wet look to the cheeckbones, and make you look like you sweaty but in a healthy way ya know? Like you just had a good workout but still somehow manage to look flawless.
If you can’t tell from the video, this product is loved. I’ve used to for probably longer than I should. I read somewhere that metallic brown shades make brown eyes pop, and I’d have to agree. I blend it out with a Real Techniques crease brush, just to smooth out any harsh edges. It’s an easy eyeshadow look that still makes me feel put together.
Ya know, I can’t say I’m floored by this mascara, although I’ve only ever truly loved one mascara in my lifetime and it’s not cruelty free. I use it everyday because it was the first mascara I opened and I’m just going to continue using it until it’s done and I can try something new. They definitely have better options out there.
Great black liner that actually stays on the waterline for more than 20 minutes. I used to use the Urban Decay waterline pencil, but that barely stayed on and by the time I left my apartment it would have disappeared altogether. This stays put and gives me that smokey eye I love to rock on a daily basis.
Just like their classic formula, but with pollution protection, or so they say. I don’t know what it’s supposed to do, but because I live in a city I will purchase any and everything that claims to protect your skin against pollution. Now, if it could protect my skin from the digusting conditions of the subway I would love it even more.
Until next time.
