Cruelty-Free Bath & Body Works Dupes

Hey. Hi. Hello!

Happy Monday! I think this is the first official Monday of the new year. I’ve only managed to confidently write 2018 like six times, so I think you could call that a success. I’m back to the normal schedule at work, so that’s a bummer. We also have inventory coming up so please send prayers for me these next two weeks.

Anyway, this is a post I’ve been wanting to write for a while, but I’m a little conflicted. Over the past year, I’ve seen so many conflicting views about whether or not Bath and Body Works is cruelty free. I can’t seem to find anything written about their stance as of 2018, but the closest I’ve found is on Logical Harmony.

They state that they don’t test on animals, except where required by law, which is DICEY. It’s not a yes or a no, it’s a maybe. Personally, I don’t want to continue supporting a company that is a MAYBE when it comes to animal testing. So, as I’ve started to work through a lot of the products I purchased during their summer sale, I’ve found some alternatives for their three big categories, except for body care because like duh you can find dupes anywhere for that.

This is what brings all the girls to the yard. Bath & Body Works is basically synonymous with candles at this point. The three-wicks are the best, and man can you get some good deals on them since they’re ALWAYS on sale. They fill your whole room with glorious smells, so we’ve obviously got some large shoes to fill, but I’ve found some brands that come pretty close.

Le Labo

Truly unique fragrances. Plus, the packaging says bougie on it so that sold me right away.

Le Labo Frangrance

P.F. Candle Co

Very rustic looking candles, with not a huge fragrance range. But, they do come in a bunch of different sizes, and burn off really nicely, so that’s good!

These candles are so aesthetic it hurts. They all smell quite earthy, but aren’t overpowering. They just warm you from the inside out when you light them, and have a soft crackle like a nice fireplace, too.

Phlur Candles ($18.00 – $88.00)

These candles are EVERYWHERE now. They’re most popular for their candle packs, but also sell a bunch of different sizes of their candles, including what I can only describe as a bucket-sized candle.

Voluspa ($8.00 – $324)

While their exfoliating soaps are kinda controverial because they hurt turtles and the ocean with their little beads, the rest of them are great. I was with them back with they came out with their touchless dispenser, which lasted like three days but was still amazing. My favorite is their silk hand soaps, which are a savior during the winter. Here are some brands that easily do the trick.

William Sonoma

I’m surprised by this brand, but happy. William Sonoma was a staple in my house growing up because just like BBW they release seasonal hand soap scents, so it really gets you in the spirit!

William Sonoma Hand Soap ($12.95)

Molton Brown

If you’re feeling bougie, this one’s for you. These soaps smell GREAT so I ain’t mad about the price tag.

Molton Brown Hand Wash ($30.00)

Obviously this makes an appearance. They have a few different formulas of their soap, just like BBW, except nothing with exfoliating properties. Nice but limited scent ranges.

Method Hand Soap ($4.00)

They only have one scent, but it’s nice! A great home-grown company which natural ingredients to clean your hands. They also do great home cleaning products, too

Puracy Hand Soap ($6.99)

Home Scents

You may be thinking to yourself that candles ARE home fragrance, but guess what, BBW does more than just candles for your home. They’ve got your car scents, wax melts, and the BEAUTIFUL Wallflower. I mean they just have so many holders and all of their signature fragrances to fill your room if you aren’t allowed to light candles like I was growing up. Here are some brands with comparable products.

Yankee Candle ScentPlug

Yankee Candle regains the top spot for something. Their ScentPlug is a complete dupe for the Wallflower, but without guilt of animal testing. And without Mahogany Teakwood.

Yankee Candle ScentPlug ($7.50)

Citrus Magic

Honestly, this brand confuses me for many reasons, but they have some nice alternatives for home frangrance, along with car fragrance as well. Not a lot of scent range but what can you do.

Citrus Magic

A to Z Candles

They make candles, car scents, diffusers, and wax melts. They 100% have more wax melt scents than BBW, so suck on that.

A to Z Wax Melts ($5.00)

Until Next Time!
