Hey. Hi. Hello!
Finally, the month from HECK is over. Yeah that’s right, we’re censoring ourselves around here now. Seriously though, February felt like it was the longest month so far. I really hope that’s not an indication of how the rest of this year will go, but we’ll just have to wait and find out.
Even though it is the shortest month, I still had time to try a lot of really great things out, from beauty to clothing to some new TV shows. I’ve tried to keep it short and simple for you, but added some fun new additions to my favorite posts for each month. Let’s just dive right in!
Dermalogica Sound Sleep Cocoon
I know, I know. I have an obsession with Dermalogica that isn’t going to stop anytime soon, especially if they keep making products like this. It’s a night cream, but it’s also so much more than that. It’s infused with essential oils that are released when you rub the product into your skin, and they knock you right out. You’ll sleep so much better after splurging on this. Trust.
Hourglass Stick Foundation
Did I need to spend more money on foundations? No. But I did anyway because I have a problem. Of all the ones I bought this month, this is the one that stood out the most. It has a natural finish and doesn’t settle into fine lines or any hair you have on your face. It definitely apply better with a brush than my preferred sponge method, but it’s a change I’m willing to make.
Summer Fridays R+R Mask
I also have a problem with buying Summer Fridays masks. They only have three, but I own all three even though I love Dermalogica so much. This one is marketed as being a glow mask, in that it’s really the best of their other two masks combines. It exfoliates and hydrates in just 10 minutes, and really does instantly make your skin look amazing.
Leica Sofort Instant Camera
This was one of my Christmas presents last year, and I’m loving it. Like all instant cameras it’s so easy to use, but because it’s a Leica the quality of the photos is just so much better. It’s super easy to travel with and just makes life a little more fun.
Everlane Boss Flats
This past month I was told I needed to “improve my presence at work.” What does this mean? I’m really not sure, but I took it as an excuse to invest in a better wardrobe, which included some business shoes. These flats are amazing. Super comfortable, don’t give you blisters, and I’m able to last 9 hours on my feet in them, which is much needed at work.
Vagabond Marja Booties
Another pair of shoes I invested in this month were these. I love booties, but have been needed a higher pair to wear with all my cropped pants. While they did rub my ankles a bit during the first wear, they didn’t wear down my heels or make my want to cry at work. They pair amazing with all cropped jeans, and add just a bit of edge to any outfit. (Size up in them though, the sizing guide is WRONG).
BlankNYC Faux Leather Pants
Big cropped flare pant person this month. I own some jeans, some culottes, and some regular cropped pants, but these are the best. They’re not as short on me as the model, but you can open the buttons to enhance the cropped feature. They’re super comfortable and make me feel like an 80’s rocker. Big fan.
I’ve been watching a lot of home makeover shows on my days off this past month, so I’ve been all about decorating. While I do want to re-do my living room, I’ve started small by just adding some nice accents into my place. AllModern is my favorite place for decor, especially when it comes to indulging in fake plants that I can’t kill.
Aritzia Babaton Demy Blazer
This was arguably the best investment I made in February. Aritzia is my absolute favorite place for work clothes that are also transitional pieces for everyday. This relaxed blazer just gives me serious 80’s vibes, while also making any outfit look that much more put together and professional. It’s been my most reached for piece in my closet.
Devil in the White City
This year I want to start challenging myself to read more. In order to do this I’m going to introduce a favorite book of the month. Like a delayed book club if you will. The Devil in the White City has been the book I’ve been trying to read for MONTHS now. It’s my travel book, but somehow I always just fall asleep on planes. But, I finally finished it this month. It’s a great mix of fiction and non-fiction to paint an incredible tale of murder and history during the Chicago World’s Fair.
The Masked Singer
Even though I’m trying to read more, I still have time to watch TV. And this month I’ve been obsessing over the Masked Singer. I thought it was a stupid concept at first, but when I watched an episode I became hooked. The judges really have no idea who any of these people are because they don’t have Google, but it’s always so suspenseful each week.
That’s everything I’ve been loving this month! Let me know what things you’ve been enjoying, or if you have any book recommendations for me in the future.
Until Next Time!
